About the Role
We are looking for Finance and Payroll officer whose main focus is to process fortnightly end to end payroll and assist with finance and other general office administration duties.
This is a maximum term 12 month contract covering a period of parental leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing fortnightly payroll including but not limited to salary packaging, superannuation, taxation, overpayments, back pays, timesheets and PAYG ATO reporting.
- Calculations of redundancy /other estimates when required.
- Prepare and process payroll month end and year end reporting
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of payroll system and interface to other Ruah systems.
- Liaise with Salary Packaging company regarding all payroll related matters
- Administration of superannuation, taxation and PAYG ATO reporting.
- Generate regular and ad hoc payroll reports.
- Assisting with payroll policies, procedure and legislations include policy review, EBA and award.
- Co-ordinate with the People Development Team regarding payroll processing, salary increments / performance reviews and award increases.
- Assist with processing NOE and VOE process and maintenance.
- Provide support and guidance to staff on Payroll and Finance issues.
- General office duties as required.
- Accurately process supplier and subcontractor invoices
- Control petty cash, credit card expenses, and reimbursements
- Control income receipting and banking.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Reviewing and update Finance procedures and work instructions as required.
- Respond and resolve finance enquiries.
- Audit preparation and engagement.
- Responsible for ensuring creditors are paid in timely manner.
- Monitoring Finance and payroll email.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
What we’re looking for
The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or significant progress towards a qualification with practical experience (3+ years) in bookkeeping using a computer-based accounting and payroll systems.
- Experience with CHRIS 21 / ichris or similar payroll systems used in medium to large organisations is desirable
- Good knowledge and/or experience with award and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement interpretation.
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation.
- Strong numerical analytical skills to a high level of accuracy.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
