Maintenance Supervisor

About Ruah

Ruah is a leading values-driven employer in Western Australia’s community services sector. Our staff go boldly, not just supporting people in need, but working to end homelessness, end domestic violence and create opportunities for people struggling with poverty and mental health challenges.

Our professional team of operational and corporate services staff is backed by one of WA’s biggest Peer support workforces. Our staff reflect our commitment to diversity and inclusion, where difference is valued, celebrated and embraced.

By choosing to work with us, you are helping transform the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our community.

About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key operational role within Ruah’s Corporate Services team, reporting to the Facilities & Asset Manager. The role supports the safe, compliant and effective maintenance of Ruah’s property portfolio through strong contractor oversight, site-based supervision and quality assurance of works.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on and organised professional who supervises reactive, planned and capital maintenance activities, audits contractor performance, and ensures health, safety and safeguarding standards are consistently upheld across Ruah sites. This role plays an important part in strengthening on-site presence, improving contractor accountability, and supporting delivery of the 10-Year Maintenance Plan.

By working closely with internal teams and external contractors, the Maintenance Supervisor helps ensure facilities remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose, enabling services to focus on delivering positive outcomes for clients.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position is based at Ruah’s Northbridge office, with regular travel across metropolitan sites as required.

  • Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Experience managing reactive and planned maintenance activities across multiple sites.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors and internal stakeholders.

The following criteria are considered desirable:

  • A trade qualification or relevant qualification in Building, Construction, Facilities Management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting capital works, refurbishments or asset renewal programs.
  • Experience working within a community services, health, or not-for-profit environment.

What do we offer?

  • 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% annual leave loading (for award-based staff)
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave, with flexibility to take at 32 weeks half-pay (uniquely, new staff can access 4 weeks paid parental leave after just 6 months’ service).

  • Incredibly valuable Salary Packaging (to extend your take home pay) with:
  • up to $15,900 core packaging
  • an additional $2,650 in meal entertainment packaging
