Tell me about the role! 

RMIT Online is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Sustainability expert to become one of the key figures in our Sustainability and climate-related financial reporting online course. This 6-week programme is dedicated to preparing learners for upcoming changes in financial reporting requirements, crucial for ensuring climate and financial sustainability. 

As an Industry Mentor, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Conducting weekly webinars, some in collaboration with an industry partner, to share industry insights and answer questions; 
  • Actively supporting learners through our Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas and Slack
  • Providing constructive feedback on the milestones and final projects, ensuring the culmination of the programme is a testament to their growth; 
  • Offering 15-minute one-on-one sessions to students, creating a personalised learning experience. 

This position is paid, fully remote (so you can be anywhere in Australia!) and requires a commitment of 4-8 hours per week. Let’s talk about you! 

You are a Sustainability expert with a background in finance, accounting or analytics and are able to showcase: 

  • Proven track record in transparent and trusted ESG reporting, and knowledge of integrating ESG considerations into decision-making, operations, and strategies. 
  • Ability to navigate the complexities of financial implications, data management, compliance, materiality, integration, and communication related to ESG reporting. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; you are comfortable assessing situations, identifying problems or potential improvements, and devising effective solutions. 
  • Understanding of the following concepts and frameworks preferred: 
  1. Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 
  2. Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) 
  3. Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) 
  4. Sustainably Development Goals (SDGs)
