We are seeking a Small Plant Operator to join our Waikato Villages Team. Reporting to the Team Manager you will be responsible for general green space maintenance across our Rotorua Village site. While your role is primarily edging (on a weed eater), there is the possibility of doing training and filling in on routine mower operation and broader gardening duties for the right candidate. You will also be involved in helping the team with planting, weeding, and spraying, whilst making sure things are kept safe for the public, your team, and yourself and to a high standard.

Who we are looking for:

Ideally, we would love someone who has practical experience with small plant equipment or has experience in a similar role. You'll have an awesome work ethic, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in then you would be a perfect candidate. Other success factors also include:

  • A current, full driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual
  • A willingness to accept responsibility and ownership of jobs whilst working as part of a wider team - helping out your teammates needs to be second nature
  • Fit and able to undertake and complete physically demanding tasks
  • Have knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to the job
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Motivated, with a strong desire to get the job done and having started your National Level 3 in Horticulture qualification would be advantageous
