Reporting to the Team Manager and working closely alongside one of our talented Gardeners, you will be responsible for general green space maintenance across multiple sites for Tūpuna Maunga o Tamaki Makaurau (Ancestral Mountains/volcanoes of Auckland). While your role is primarily mowing and edging, you will also be involved in helping the team with planting, weeding, and spraying, whilst making sure things are kept safe for the public, your team, and yourself.

This role doesn't just involve sitting on a mower, you must be eager to get involved with all tasks!

Who we are looking for:

Ideally, we would love someone who has practical experience with small plant equipment or has experience in a similar Mower Operation role. You'll have an awesome work ethic, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in! Other success factors also include:

  • A current, full driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual (Class 2 would also be advantageous)
  • A willingness to accept responsibility and ownership of jobs whilst working as part of a wider team - helping out your teammates needs to be second nature
  • Fit and able to undertake and complete sometimes physical tasks
  • Have knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to the job
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Motivated with a strong desire to get the job done
