As a proud partner to a range of retirement villages in Tauranga and the wider Waikato area, we support the upkeep of their gardens, infrastructure, and wider public spaces, providing the residents an even better place to live and have visitors.

To continue delivering on this commitment, we’re looking for a dedicated Grounds Workers on a fixed term basis to join our Waikato Villages team for 6 months!

About the role:

The Grounds Worker role is for a versatile and skilled professionals who can handle a wide range of tasks. From planting to weed eating, and grounds improvement our Grounds Workers do it all! Here's a glimpse of what your day-to-day activities might include:

🌿 Maintaining both soft and hard landscaping areas

🌿 Pruning, planting, flax cutting and general garden care

🌿 Hedge trimming, weed eating and edging

🌿 Spraying herbicides and manually removing/picking of weeds and pest plants

🌿 Turfing, topdressing and installing landscape features

What Are We Looking For?

While practical experience in horticulture is ideal, it's not a must. If you have a great work ethic and a passion for working outdoors, you could be the perfect fit! Here are some qualities we value:

🌿 A current, full Class 1 driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle

🌿 A good level of fitness, as the role can be physically demanding, being on your feet throughout the day

🌿 A team player with a positive attitude who naturally helps out teammates

🌿 Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with your team, residents and the client

🌿 High motivation and a strong desire to get the job done safely and on-time

🌿 The ability to use a smartphone and other technology is advantageous
