Senior Pest Plant Operator

Green by Nature is proud to be one of Auckland Council's chosen service providers, entrusted with maintaining the beauty of the region's parks, playgrounds, and public spaces. We are now looking for a Senior Pest Plant Operator!

What does a Pest Plant Operator do, you ask?

In a nutshell, your role will see you take on vegetation and pest plant management activities within the regions many parks and reserves. Day-to-day your role will see you carry out chemical spraying and application of herbicides, manual removal of weeds, operating spray equipment/machinery and helping other teams as required. We traditionally have teams of two Pest Plant Operator, one being a Senior, work together each day.

Who we are looking for:

Ideally, we would love someone who has pest plant management experience along with a current GrowSafe certification. You'll also be a hard worker, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in! Other success factors include:

• A clean and current drivers' licence with the ability to drive a manual
• A current GrowSafe Certificate
• Be a team player with a positive attitude - helping out your team mates needs to be second nature
• A desire to adhere to the company's health and safety procedures
• Motivated with a strong desire to get this job done 
• Physically fit - the role does involve a lot of walking and heavy lifting
