Garden Labourer

We’re looking for a reliable fixed term Garden Labourer to help maintain beautiful outdoor spaces across the Masterton District Council. You'll assist with a variety of gardening and maintenance tasks on one of our projects, including:

• Mowing small plant areas
• Weeding, pruning, and hedge trimming
• Developing new garden beds and landscapes
• Hand-pulling weeds and vegetation control

You'll work as part of a team to keep these spaces looking great while ensuring safety for yourself, your team, and your community!

Who We’re Looking For:

No prior experience? No problem! If you enjoy working outdoors and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, we want to hear from you. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A full, current driver’s licence (with experience driving manual vehicle)
• A solid work ethic and a hands-on, can-do attitude
• Knowledge of health and safety practices (or a willingness to learn)
• Good communication skills, as you may interact with colleagues the wider community members
• The physical fitness to handle the demands of the role including standing and bending for long periods
