About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager and working closely with other team members, you will be responsible for general garden maintenance across multiple sites in Hastings and Havelock North. Your duties will include planting, weeding, pruning, and vegetation control, as well as maintaining bedding displays, hanging baskets, roses, borders, and shrubbery. You will ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards, maintaining a well-planned and timely schedule while prioritising the safety of the public, your team, and yourself.
Who we are looking for:
Ideally, we would love someone who has practical experience in gardening/horticulture industry, however, this is not a must. As long as you have an awesome work ethic, with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in then you would be a perfect candidate. Other success factors also include:
- A current, full driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
- A willingness to accept responsibility and ownership of jobs whilst working as part of a wider team - helping out your teammates needs to be second nature
- Have knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to the job
- Excellent relationship building and great communication skills
- Energetic, motivated with a strong desire to get the job done
