About the Centre
Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) is a state-of-the-art recreation centre located in the heart of Traralgon, Victoria. We run a variety of fitness and swim programs and memberships to suit adults and children. The centre houses a Gym, three Group Fitness Rooms, Indoor 50m Pool, Outdoor 25m Pool, Indoor Warm Water Pool, Indoor designated Learn to Swim Pool, Spa/Sauna/Steam Room, two large Water Slides, Aqua Playground and on site Café.
Warragul Leisure Centre boasts 3 indoor pool areas including an 8 lane 25m pool, program pool and attached splash park and warm water pool. Warragul also has an outdoor seasonal 50m pool that is open from November to May each year.
About the Role
- Content Creation - Develop and produce engaging content for various platforms, including the website, social media, and print media. Content writing and creation for media releases and news items.
- Brand Consistency - Ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date while maintaining consistency in brand identity and language.
- Design - Create visually appealing marketing communication pieces, such as posters and flyers using software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Microsoft Publisher
- E-newsletter creation and publication - Creation and distribution of the monthly e-newsletter
- Promotional displays - Maintain and update promotional displays within the centre to align with current marketing strategies.
- Data Collection and Evaluation - Support the evaluation, collection, and recording of data from marketing communications activities to enhance overall performance.
- Material Monitoring & Orders - In line with the budget, assist in monitoring and tracking all materials purchased for marketing and promotional activities. Ordering stock as required, in line with the budget
- Marketing Plan and Budget Support - Assist in the development and execution of the Marketing Plan and budget as required. Provide advice and recommendations to the Management Team on marketing issues to facilitate sound decision making. Provide advice, recommendations and planning assistance to the staff related to market planning to ensure a coordinated action that is consistent with the business objectives. Implement, monitor, evaluate and report on a regular basis, the achievement against all targets and requirements.
- Internal communication and training - Assist in communicating and training staff on marketing campaigns and communication pieces for the centre, members, and guests.
The role is Full Time - Permanent with an hourly rate of up to $36.19 + super + Y benefits.
The location can be flexible for home site between Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre and Warragul Leisure Centre. There will be minimal travel between sites (as required).
About you
Our ideal candidate is proactive, creative and has a solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong content creation, copywriting and graphic design skills.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or similar), Microsoft Office, websites, social media and email marketing.
- Strong understanding of branding and consistent marketing communications.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyse marketing performance and support continuous improvement.
- Experience assisting with marketing plans, campaigns and budget management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
- Previous experience within local government, NFP or NGO sector would be highly advantageous.
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or Project Management (or a degree or post-graduate qualification that demonstrates similar skills) desirable.
