About the Centre
Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre is a state-of-the-art recreation centre located in the heart of Traralgon, Victoria and is owned by Latrobe City Council, and managed by YMCA Victoria. We run a variety of fitness and swim programs and memberships to suit adults and children.
The centre houses a Gym, three Group Fitness Rooms, Indoor 50m Pool, Outdoor 25m Pool, Indoor Warm Water Pool, Indoor designated Learn to Swim Pool, Spa/Sauna/Steam Room, two large Water Slides, Aqua Playground and on site Café.
About the Role
Joining our team means becoming part of a vibrant and inclusive community. We value teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement and are passionate about water safety and ensuring all children in Latrobe know how to swim.
You will play a key role within the leadership team, driving the performance outcomes for the learn to swim team while providing a high quality and robust programming schedule, focusing of driving participation and member retention. In this role you will oversee our Swimming Lesson and Schools Programs. You will be a considered decision maker and will be able to manage a multitude of tasks utilising good time management and organisational skills.
This a part-time role (approx. 30hrs per week) with an hourly rate of $32.81-$36.19 + Super & Y benefits, dependent on experience.
About You
You will have strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of staff in a busy aquatic environment. Aquatic Supervision will be a large focus of the role to ensure high levels of consistent supervision.
You will be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.
Essential Qualifications
- Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Other Desired Qualifications
- Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
