About the Centre
The Boroondara Sports Complex is a large sports centre, housing three outdoor pools include a heated 50 metre lap pool, a shaded program pool, and a dive pool with a five metre dive tower and one and three metre springboards. Beautiful Centre located conveniently within walking distance from public transport, with access to childcare and café at a discounted rate. All staff at The Y receive complimentary full membership to any YMCA within Victoria.
About You
As a Netball Umpire, you will be responsible for facilitating Mixed Netball Competition at Boroondara Sports Complex. You will work within a team environment and have a genuine interest in delivering a professionally run competition for the community.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Instructing and interacting with all users, providing effective direction, guidance, and providing feedback on the rules of the game of netball to participants through fair, impartial and consistent umpiring to all individuals and teams.
- Work within a team environment to ensure safe, timely and effective set up, delivery and pack up of the BSC Mixed Netball Competition
- Cooperate and communicate with the other umpires and your Netball Umpire Supervisor to ensure smooth delivery of the competition.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by engaging all people in a friendly, respectful and approachable manner.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a fun, welcoming and social environment within the competition, effectively communicating with members of the community who participate in the competition.
This is a casual position and the hourly rate is $33.05 + super + Y benefits.
Qualifications
- C-badge or higher (desired)
- Experience umpiring netball games (desired)
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate (required)
