About the Centre

The Bass Coast Aquatic & Leisure Centre is managed by YMCA Victoria in partnership with Bass Coast Shire. The centre facilities include a 25m heated indoor pool, gym facilities, group fitness programming and stadium and deliver a range of programs for all ages and abilities.

About the role

The Aquatic Programs Coordinator is an important member of the facility leadership team. Aquatic Programs Coordinators will manage and oversee the frontline team at the centre, to ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards.

This role will also lead, inspire, and motivate the frontline team through clear and achievable team goals and ensure high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures. Aquatic Programs leaders may work as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they oversee staff across all areas of the facility, and may act as a delegate of the Manager.

This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of $32.54.

The successful candidate will be required to work five days a week, specifically Mondays to Fridays, 10am-6pm.

About you

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far in this role!

Essential Qualifications

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety qualification

Desired Qualifications

  • Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
  • Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
  • Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
  • Teacher of Adults
