About the Centre
SPLASH is the premier Indoor Pool and Stadium facility in South Gippsland. Owned by South Gippsland Shire Council and managed by the Y, it boasts a 25m, 8 lane pool, a Leisure Pool, Toddler Pool and a two-court basketball stadium. It is located in the heart of Leongatha's Sporting precinct, adjacent to the Leongatha Recreation Oval, Woorayl Golf Course, and Leongatha Tennis Club.
About the role
The Aquatic Coordinator will manage and lead teams of employees in Aquatic Programs areas and ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards. They will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals and support high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures.. You will have responsibility for your team, the health and safety of the facility and the enjoyment and safety of the visitors to the pool. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following;
- Recognising pool water quality, plant room and cleanliness issues and acting accordingly
- Working autonomously as well as being an active leader
- Ensure designated programs and services are delivered in accordance with operating budgets, objectives and Key Performance Indicators, with support from the Area Coordinator as required
- When designated as the Manager on Duty provide immediate support to customers, staff and contractors to ensure that agreed service and safety standards are met in all areas of the facility, consulting as appropriate with other leaders on site.
About you
You will have strong leadership skills to effectively manage a large team of staff in a busy aquatic environment. Aquatic Supervision will be a large focus of the role to ensure high levels of consistent supervision.
You will be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.
Essential Qualifications
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
Other Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Leadership experience
- Relevant diploma or equivalent
- Sport and Recreation and / or Facility Operations experience
