We’re now looking for a passionate, hands‑on retail leader to join us as General Manager – Retail & Property (also known internally as GM Operations).

The Opportunity
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact executive role with full accountability for rebel’s national retail operations and store network performance.
You’ll lead:
- A $1.4B+ retail business
- 160+ stores across Australia
- 6,000+ frontline team members
- A large, complex workforce
This is a 7‑day retail operation that requires presence, energy, decisiveness and an ability to lead where the action is — in stores, with teams, and close to customers.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
As GM Retail & Property, you will own end‑to‑end accountability for:
- Retail Operations: Consistent, disciplined execution across the entire store network
- Safety: Creating a culture where every team member goes home safe — always
- Sales Growth: Driving performance through operational excellence and store leadership
- Cost & Productivity: Optimising labour, rosters and productivity to maximise commercial outcomes
- Property & Network Strategy:
- Store openings and closures
- Network optimisation
- Capital works, maintenance and repairs
- New concepts and refurbishments
- Leadership & Culture: Building accountable, engaged and capable leaders at every level
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced retail operator within a comparable operating landscape.
You will bring experience and capability in the following areas.
- Proven executive leadership in large‑scale, complex multi‑site retail or comparable customer‑facing environments
- Deep, practical understanding of store operations, workforce management, and frontline leadership
- A visible, values‑based commitment to safety‑first leadership
- Strong commercial acumen, particularly across labour productivity and P&L performance
- Experience delivering property and network outcomes — openings, closures, capex and execution
- The ability to mobilise, coach and hold to account large, layered leadership teams
- Executive presence with the maturity and potential to grow into broader enterprise leadership
