The Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney is a 364 room, five star classic hotel located in the financial and dining hub of the northern CBD. We're located half way between Circular Quay and Sydney's best shopping. We underwent a full refurbishment of our accommodation rooms and Conference & Events spaces in recent years.
We have a selection of small to mid-sized event spaces and meeting rooms on 2 different levels.
We have a great opportunity available in our experienced sales team of nine. Your new role as Business Development Manager - MICE - reports directly to our Director of Sales & Marketing. Together you will drive proactive sales and achieve budgeted goals within the MICE market
through the strategic implementation of effective sales activities.

Our Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and management of business relationships for the property with a particular focus on the MICE Market. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, ambitious and target driven.
The key objectives of the position are:
· Plan, implement and drive new sales initiatives across the MICE market
· Focus on the development of new business opportunities
· Monitor market and competitor activity and carry out ongoing research to establish sales opportunities
· To maintain and nurture existing core accounts and identify opportunities for incremental growth within these accounts
· Prepare and sign client documentation and general correspondence in conjunction with the DOSM.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the Sydney four to five star hotel market, possess outstanding personal skills and have a strong desire to succeed. They will be self-motivated, willing to learn and grow and be passionate about the hospitality industry. Experience using Opera is preferred and intermediate or above Microsoft Office skills are essential.
This is busy role but you will be guided by a supportive, energetic and fun team who are committed and passionate about this industry and willing to share their experience and knowledge. You will develop a close working relationship with both the sales and hotel team to ensure that all communication lines are open and hotel operations are briefed on all sales activities. You will also work alongside 2 experienced Conference & Events Sales Executives/Co-ordinators.
