The Workshop Technician will perform routine maintenance and repairs on ski and snowboard equipment, including tuning, waxing, edging, and base repairs - for Pure Tūroa rental and guest equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
Operational
● Ensure all tasks have been completed thoroughly, in a timely manner and that quality standards are maintained at a high level. Including but not limited to;
o Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ski and snowboard equipment, including tuning, waxing, edging, and base repairs.
o Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs and service history.
o Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify any issues or damage, and ensure all repairs meet quality standards.
o Provide professional and knowledgeable assistance to guests, assessing their equipment needs and recommending appropriate services.
o Manage inventory of repair materials and tools, ensuring adequate supplies are available to meet demand.
● Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy.
● Ensure all equipment and tools are competently operated, properly maintained, cleaned, and stored appropriately.
● Adhere to health and safety standards, at all times.
● Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
● Provide up-to-date and accurate information to guests on Turoa ski area and the local area.
● Deal with complaints, compliments and suggestions in a professional manner.
Work Experience and Qualifications:
● Demonstrated success in a similar role is essential, including sound experience in the use of ski and snowboard servicing machinery is essential.
● NZQA Level 4 Certificate, or a higher qualification in Snowsports Equipment (or equivalent international qualification) is preferred.
● Experienced in a fast paced and high pressure environment.
