At PowerNet, our purpose is simple: Safe. Efficient. Reliable. Power to Communities.
We’re proud to be New Zealand’s fourth-largest electricity network company, delivering power across the lower South Island. Our teams design, build, operate, and maintain the networks that keep over 75,000 customers connected every day.
We’re now looking for a Field Administrator to join our Balclutha depot—someone who brings a warm, friendly approach, takes pride in delivering great service, and enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
About the Role
As our Field Administrator, you’ll be the friendly face and organised force behind the scenes at our Balclutha depot. Your day-to-day will include:
- Assisting customers, electricians, inspectors, and contractors with queries
- Providing administrative support to field teams and supervisors
- Managing purchase orders, invoices, job cost reporting, and work orders
- Supporting scheduling and maintaining job databases
- Helping coordinate fault response during storms and outages
- Overseeing PPE ordering, vehicle maintenance processes, and depot resources
- General admin support to keep everything running smoothly
If you enjoy variety, can stay organised under pressure, and like being the go‑to person others rely on, you’ll thrive here.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in customer service or intermediate administration
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work
- Confidence using technology, especially Microsoft Office
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A friendly, helpful manner and a focus on doing things well
- Knowledge of the electricity industry (advantageous, but not essential)
Why Join PowerNet?
You’ll be part of a supportive, down‑to‑earth team that values your contribution. We offer:
- Competitive remuneration
- 5 weeks of annual leave
- Fully subsidised Southern Cross health insurance (discounted family options)
- A comprehensive health & wellbeing programme
- An inclusive and diverse workplace where we celebrate differences

If this sounds like your kind of role and you’re keen to join a fantastic team, we’d love to hear from you.
Please submit your CV and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
