About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor Asset Inspection to join the PowerNet team. This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Friday and the location is flexible (Invercargill, Gore or Balclutha depot) for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Field Manager, the Supervisor works closely with the Engineering Department and is responsible for leading and supporting a team of Asset Inspectors. You will oversee the planning, scheduling, coordination and the completing of inspections ensuring they are on time and within budget
What you will need to be successful:
You will be a highly motivated individual who has a pragmatic, flexible and adaptable team approach, along with the passion to grow and develop at PowerNet. To be successful you will need:
- At least five years recent experience in the electrical distribution industry
- Experience working effectively with the public; particularly with regard to gaining access onto privately owned property
- Able to identify and interpret characteristics of electrical and mechanical apparatus associated with the power industry, using condition assessment programs, tools and electrical test equipment
- Be physically fit and able to carry out the physical demands of the job (e.g. Pole and Condition checks, Pillar box and Earth inspections)
- Have a broad understanding of electrical testing in the distribution environment and capable of educating the team.
- Previous experience accurately and consistently undertaking inspections and reporting results
- Basic computer skills, including use of mobile and handheld devices and be willing to undergo extra training to improve on existing skills
- Have knowledge of New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice, Regulations and industry guidance
- Have an understanding of industry specific health & safety management
- A current NZ full drivers licence
- Ability to gain PowerNet Network Access competencies for non-electrical inspection work
