Position Overview:

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Quality and Improvement Manager to join our team in Invercargill. As a dedicated quality champion, the successful candidate will play a key role in leading the development, implementation and maintenance of effective quality management systems, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives across our organisation. With a team of three direct reports, this is a rewarding role where you have the opportunity to partner with a range of people and make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take an active leadership role with a specific focus on quality, risk and safety management and planning, quality improvement and workforce development activities.
  • Oversee the execution of quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ISO:9001 Quality Management System.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for quality enhancement and process optimisation.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor the effectiveness of quality management systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support and promote an improvement culture that everyone in the workforce can participate in.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to build awareness and capability in quality management principles and practices, providing coaching across the organisation.

Qualifications Required:

  • New Zealand qualification in Quality Management
  • Formal accreditation in Business Improvement, Project Management, or Business methodology (e.g., Lean, PMP, or Prince 2).

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices including process mapping and ISO framework and accreditation
  • Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
