Gas Account Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced account manager who can continue driving exceptional customer service, manage existing customers, establish new relationships whilst securing and managing new gas customers across Powerco’s natural gas network.

Our Wellington office is home to our customer team, account managers, engineers, analysts, project managers and administrators. We work hard to connect homes and businesses to natural gas, maintain our gas assets and keep our customers happy.

We have over 104,000 customers connected to our gas network making us the largest gas distribution company in New Zealand.

About the role:

The Commercial Sales Team is a vibrant customer focused team and are the first point of contact for large customers, developers, retailers and industry consultants.

We manage key accounts, major gas consumers and connect businesses to our network from cafes to commercial and industrial sites.

As part of the Commercial Sales Team the Gas Account Manager will work closely with customers to build a detailed understanding of requirements delivering cost effective, reliable and efficient solutions, that will grow and enhance their business for now and the for the future.

You will manage gas connections or projects to final project delivery, coordinating planning, gasfitters, retailers, contractors and work schedules. You will be out in the field and on work sites providing quality customer service and advice to taking inbound calls.

Skills and experience required:

We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, is customer focused and a great team player. Five or more years’ experience in account management, sales and/or project management would be ideal. Your ability to work with and through others, both in and outside of the organisation, will be critical in the role. Industry experience and understanding of the New Zealand energy market would be an advantage to hit the ground running.
