Note: Due to the operational nature of this role, it is based full-time in New Plymouth.

About the Role

The Head of Network Operations leads our Network Operations team within our Electricity function. This role focuses on leadership, industry excellence, cultural development, and delivering positive outcomes for our customers. As a member of the Electricity Senior Leadership team, this position reports to the GM Electricity.

Key Responsibilities

This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with operational experience and a diverse leadership toolkit. The successful candidate will lead our 24/7 operations centre and oversee the teams responsible for real-time management of our network operations. The role combines strategic, operational, and leadership responsibilities. The future is bright as both the industry and Powerco navigate electrification and the opportunities this provides.

A background in managing high-performing operational teams and CIMs management in a 24/7 environment is preferred.

Skills & Experience

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive leadership experience managing large, diverse and complex teams with strong interpersonal abilities, perspective, influence, and energy.
  • A proven track record in delivering results and executing business plans, including solid financial experience.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation expertise with teams and stakeholders
  • Experience in leading innovation processes to engage people and embed change
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Operational experience and/or an operational background
