Planning Engineer

Tauranga

This role will ensure Powerco's network assets are developed in a timely and cost effective manner. The successful applicant will be involved in analysing network information, undertaking regional planning activities, preparing reports and implementing the Company's Asset Management Plan in the region.

Your analytical skills will be crucial to ensure the future capability of Powerco's network. You will have a strong influencing ability on budgets and be able to identify areas of improvement across the network to make a real difference.

You will also:

  • Prepare network development plans
  • Be the project owner for Powerco’s development projects
  • Prepare area studies to determine the future needs of the network
  • Review designs and add innovation
  • Assist in preparing the annual works plan
  • Identify practical opportunities that enhance the value of the business
  • Be actively involved in building relationships with other key stakeholders including councils, business groups and customers

The person we are looking for will have:

  • BE or NZCE qualification in related electrical engineering area, or at least 10 years applicable electricity network experience.
  • Experience in network planning 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical modelling skills
  • Risk management and decision making skills
