Pricing and Compliance Analyst

📍 New Plymouth

🕐 Fixed-term for 12 months

The energy sector is in a period of change driven by technology and climate policy. We’re looking for a Pricing Analyst to join Powerco’s regulatory and pricing team (Customer Group) on a fixed term basis (12 months) while we deliver several big transformation projects to support this period of change. 

Are you commercial astute, analytically sharp and keen to play a key role in shaping how electricity and gas prices are set in New Zealand? Join Powerco as out next Pricing Analyst and help us deliver fair accurate and transparent pricing outcomes for customer retailers and regulators.

You’ll work alongside our Delivery Regulatory and Pricing Manager to:

  • Develop, set, and deliver prices.
  • Maintain and improve pricing models to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provide pricing analysis and financial modelling insights
  • Support regulatory disclosures and compliance activities
  • Respond to pricing and regulatory enquiries from customers, retailers, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate across teams to implement new or updated pricing structures

The person we are looking for will need a combination of:

  • Skilled in pricing and financial modelling along with quantitative problem solving
  • Familiar with the electricity and/or gas industry
  • Experienced in regulatory compliance and disclosures
  • Commercially astute with strong business judgement
  • Confident with Excel and Tableau, with excellent analytical skills
  • A clear communicator who can engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A tertiary degree or equivalent in finance or economics or similar analytical subject
