Outage Systems Lead – Fixed Term for 8 months

New Plymouth

With such a vast and widespread network, a lot of effort goes in to keeping Powerco customers switched on. Our busy Network Operations Centre is where it all happens! This role has been created to cover parental leave for one of our valued team members and will run from January to September 2022.

In the electricity world, it’s natural that faults and power outages occur, (often due to weather events or trees growing into our power lines) and when they do, we need to know WHY. This role is instrumental in helping our team understand faults to improve business intelligence and network performance.

It goes without saying you'll have excellent analytical skills, the ability to take a step back and figure out what is going on. Your foundation and background in an electricity field will enable you to understand the possible causes. You have probably also spent some time providing training or mentoring to others.

This role will fully utilise your strengths in detail and data, continuous improvement, relationships, resilience, and persistence. Those strengths coupled with great technology skills and a swift ability to grasp new systems, processes and technologies will enable you to hit the ground running.

We’re a big company with lots of moving parts, operating in an industry that is adapting, and that means change is a natural part of life here. If you can respond positively towards change and help your team to understand and navigate change, you’ll thrive.

This role provides a real opportunity to grow and develop your analytical and business improvement skills within a fast-paced environment. Up for the challenge? Let’s talk.

Applications close: Friday 10 December 2021
