About the role
As a Community Stakeholder Relationship Advisor, you'll be a key driver of Powerco's Community Stakeholder Engagement Strategy. By building strong community connections, you'll collect crucial insights to help the wider Powerco team innovate and deliver solutions to support our communities into the future.
Your mission extends beyond mere engagement - you'll be a driving force in enhancing Powerco's reputation within our communities, forging genuine community stakeholder relationships, and supporting community resilience and the just transition to a low carbon future.
To excel in this exciting and rewarding role, you'll use your excellent written and spoken communication skills and your ability to connect with different people in different situations. If you have a minimum of three years' experience in community or stakeholder engagement in a corporate, government, or community context and possess a genuine understanding of tikanga Māori, we want you on our team to help foster meaningful relationships and make a difference in our communities.
Skills & Experience
To successfully carry out the role, you will have:
- A high level of relationship management skills across a range of audiences that adds value by recognising synergies
- Ability to influence organisational and community wide decision-making processes
- Confidence in building and maintaining effective relationships with tangata whenua and/or a genuine understanding of tikanga and willingness to work within the engagement principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Strategic mindset with a particular focus on analysis of engagement methods, messaging and impacts
- A natural networker who can listen and turn ideas into actions
- Capable of simplifying complex matters to their essence
- Ability to communicate with influence
- Can generate and execute creative and innovative engagement plans to support community engagement opportunities
