About the role:

We’re after a Graduate Environmental Planner with a blend of passion and skill, armed with a degree in environmental planning to join us in 2025. If you have a flair for understanding and applying environmental legislation, or a knack for managing complex processes with a detail-oriented approach, we’re keen to hear from you. If you’re a confident communicator, a visionary looking for challenge and purpose, and a hard worker that gets the mahi done, we’re keen to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on and prepare regulatory approvals, including resource consent applications, waivers and outline plans.
  • Monitor environmental policy changes for required submissions.
  • Prepare submissions on road stoppings and third party resource consents.
  • Prepare and review policies and advice documents.
  • Manage Powerco’s resource consent register, undertake compliance inspections, and handle consent renewals.
  • Contribute to Powerco’s collaborative, safe, and inviting work environment by demonstrating the organisation’s Ngā Tikanga.

Idea experience and skills:

  • Qualifications and/or experience in resource management or environmental planning.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
