Network Control Centre Dispatch

New Plymouth - Permanent Full-time. 24/7 shift work 

In response to the increasing demands on our network, we are committed to expanding our Network Operations Centre team, the central hub of our operations. 

You will become part of a dedicated, professional, and supportive team. The Network Dispatch Team is responsible for coordinating and dispatching service providers to ensure the restoration of faults for consumers. They manage information requests and emergency calls from both the public and emergency services. 

By collaborating closely with network controllers and the network coordination team, they effectively manage hazards and dispatch work to field service crews via radio, phone, and a bespoke SCADA platform-based outage management system. Additionally, they are tasked with maintaining various databases and registers to ensure operational efficiency. 

To successfully fill this role you will need: 

  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing superior customer service 
  • A high degree of computer literacy, in particular the Microsoft suite, together with knowledge of integrated IT systems 
  • The ability to interpret and pass on technical information to field staff 
  • The ability to gain an understanding of electricity and gas network hardware and systems i.e. transformers, feeders, sub stations and gas gates 
  • Strong organisational and administration skills 
  • A team focus 
  • The ability to work under pressure and multi task i.e. during storms 
  • Be prepared to work a standard 4-on, 4-off roster, with 12-hour shifts.
