 About the role

As our Senior GIS Specialist, you will be part of a friendly team that provides great customer service by understanding business requirements, performing advanced spatial data analysis, designing, and implementing solutions to address business needs. Collaboration is key as you'll work closely with business stakeholders including architects, business customers, and vendors.

Leveraging your expertise in ESRI and FME toolsets, you will play a vital role in managing GIS applications and databases. You will ensure end user calls and requests are resolved by taking ownership of problems and driving resolutions.

The role also requires you to perform maintenance activities and leveraging automation to keep our geospatial applications and databases running in tip top shape while ensuring support documentation is up to date.

About you

 To be a success in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in ESRI ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Server enterprise geodatabases, ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and/or Pro), ArcGIS Enterprise/Online web tools and Experience Builder.
  • Experience in administration of ArcGIS Enterprise including version upgrades and patching
  • Experience in automating GIS pipeline tasks using FME, Python and SQL Server
  • Experience with map projection transformations, datum conversions, geo-coding, cartographic design and map production
  • Proficiency in JSON, Java, Flex, FME and familiar with SAP
  • Proven track record in agile software delivery management.
  • Ability to communicate analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner.

  It would be ideal, but not necessary, if you have:

  •  Customer service experience
  • Great relationship building skills with the ability to interact and communicate at various levels across the organisation and with vendors
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and exercise independent judgment, common sense and initiative
  • Ability to work in a highly technical environment utilising Critical thinking and Deep technical problem solving
  • Focus on promoting continuous improvement
  • Leadership in Esri GIS products
  • Ability to work as a team player, whilst thriving on taking ownership of your own work.
