SAP Functional Specialist

📍 New Plymouth

🕐 Permanent - Full-time

We’re looking for an experienced SAP Functional Specialist to maintain, optimise, and enhance our SAP environment with a strong focus on procurement and inventory management. If you enjoy solving complex system challenges, improving processes, and partnering closely with business teams, this role offers plenty of variety and impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting and maintaining SAP Master Data with strong focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Managing SAP-related initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvements
  • Configuring, testing, and deploying SAP modules to optimise procurement automation and workflows
  • Working collaboratively with IT, Finance, Electricity, and Gas teams to ensure seamless integration and system stability
  • Providing technical advice, training, and support to help teams get the most from SAP
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve processes, including recommending system changes
  • Supporting and optimising inventory processes such as stock handling, valuation, and materials planning within MM (Maintenance Management)

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in SAP functional support and configuration
  • Strong expertise in SAP procurement and inventory modules, particularly PM (Plant Maintenance) and MM (Material Management)
  • Experience administering and analysing SAP Master Data
  • Knowledge of SAP enhancements, updates, automation, and process integration
  • Exposure to SAP reporting tools and ideally S/4HANA or Fiori
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly to different audiences
  • A continuous improvement mindset and confidence working independently and collaboratively
