Network Access Planning Manager

New Plymouth

Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing the network access planning and switch writing teams and to ensure the overall teams effectively manages planned outages.

Key components of the Network Access Planning Manager role include:

  • Providing effective support and encouragement to team members, and build and foster a positive team environment
  • Lead the Network Access Planning Team through change management processes
  • Taking the lead role to analyse complex network access situations and develop appropriate options and solutions
  • Regular liaison with key network stakeholders including Transpower, major contractors and other service providers
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to network operating policy, procedures and systems

To successfully fill this role you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical distribution industry
  • Network maintenance, operating, construction and/or design experience
  • Detailed knowledge of operating procedures and practices
  • Sound knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of protection systems and other substation equipment
  • Demonstrated ability with various computer systems and software for planning such as MS Project and electricity distribution operation systems such as OMS
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and legal compliance
  • People management experience
