Senior Business Analyst

New Plymouth-based role. Will consider Tauranga or Wellington based people for the right candidate

This might just be the opportunity you are looking for. If you are passionate about identifying opportunities for business improvements and driven to ensure solutions are valued by customer and stakeholders, then join us on our journey to transform our Electricity business.

Fundamental to our way of working is to gain real insights into our users’ and customers’ needs. Bring your mix of interpersonal and analytical skills to our team and help us deliver service excellence.

Make an impact. As a Senior Business Analyst in our Electricity Programme Team, you will contribute to the delivery of strategically important improvement goals. Collaborating with stakeholders from across our business, you will research user needs, identify key problems, challenge assumptions followed by seeking all those great ideas before helping with delivering solutions that really make a difference.

Put people first. This isn’t a typical IT BA role – your work will require a holistic, people-centred approach that considers technology as an enabler as opposed to the default solution.

Share your knowledge. In addition to your project work, you will actively develop the capability of your colleagues via coaching and mentoring..

Improve our business. Most importantly, this role is about making a positive difference to our business.

To be a success in this role, you will need:

  • A growth mindset
  • Ability to engage and quickly establish and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly analytical skillset, with strong problem solving and organisational skills
  • Knowledge and experience across Business Analysis domains, including specialisation within area(s) such as: complex problem solving, Business Process Management, Continuous Improvement, Information Technology and Data Analysis
  • Able to create structure in ambiguous situations, and comfortable adapting to changing priorities
  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills

It would ideal if you have:

  • Experience working in the electricity sector or have experience working in a programme environment.
  • Experience implementing or improving programme/project management software
  • The ability to travel - we need someone who can occasionally visit our offices across the North Island

What's in it for you?

  • Be part of a great organisation that will develop you
  • Great office environment, team culture & social activities
  • Health and Wellness – flu vaccinations, access to regular health checks, fruit in the office
  • Healthcare scheme - Medical insurance package
