Electricity Line Designer
Tauranga, New Plymouth, Whanganui or Palmerston North

We are offering a Line Designer role that provides overhead and underground line designs to the wider Powerco business and assists with the development, maintenance, and operation of Powerco’s electrical distribution network.

About the role
We are after someone with experience, or someone who wants to become a Line Designer. This will be a chance to be part of a dynamic team of designers where you will have access to modern technology which will support accuracy and efficiency in the delivery of designs. You will have a structured development plan that will give you the opportunity to prosper in your career aspirations.
If you have a great attitude, a curious nature, an analytical mind and like to have a balance of office and field work then this role maybe for you.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed scopes and designs for Powerco’s network.
- Assist the development of Powerco’s electricity network overhead and underground policies and standards.
- Assist with the preparation of development and renewal plans for Powerco’s overhead and underground network.
- Assist with designing standard structures to enhance and develop the network.
- Provide support to other Powerco teams and contractors with lines related queries.
It is preferable that candidates have:
- A recognised qualification in the electrical or engineering industry
- Knowledge of line design software.
- Knowledge of electricity overhead and underground designs
- An understanding of AS/NZS 7000 Overhead line design standard and other associated standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- A strong appetite to learn.
