Network Control Centre Dispatch

New Plymouth - Permanent Full-time. 24/7 shift work

We’re looking for two new Network Dispatchers to join our Network Operations Centre team, the central hub of our operations.

You’ll be joining a supportive, professional, and close-knit team that plays an important role in keeping our communities connected.

Our Network Dispatchers coordinate and dispatch field crews to respond to faults and outages across the network. The team also manages calls from customers, contractors, and emergency services, helping make sure the right information gets to the right people quickly and safely.

Working closely with Network Controllers and the wider Network Operations team, you’ll help manage hazards, communicate with crews by phone and radio, and use a range of systems to support outage response and restoration work.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Confidence using computers and learning new systems
  • The ability to stay calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A team-focused attitude and willingness to support others
  • The ability to understand and communicate technical information
  • A willingness to learn about electricity and gas network equipment and systems
  • The ability to multitask, especially during busy periods such as storms or network events

During the training period, this role will work day shifts to support learning and onboarding. Once fully trained and competent, the role will move onto a 4-on, 4-off roster with 12-hour shifts.

Applications close: Friday 29 May 2026

Please note: We will be reviewing applications and conducting interviews as they are received, so we encourage you to apply early. This role may close before the listed end date if we find the right candidates.

Our ability to get the best out of people is what sets Powerco apart. We realise that candidates – especially from underrepresented and neurodiverse backgrounds – often won’t apply for roles unless they meet ALL the criteria. We encourage anyone who shares our passion for connecting communities to apply for any role that aligns to your strengths and interests. We will provide a safe space where you can bring your whole self to work and thrive.

If you would benefit from support or adjustments in order to participate equitably in the recruitment process, please phone 0800 769372 or email kiaora@powerco.co.nz
