Network Investment Analyst
📍 Tauranga or New Plymouth
🕐 Permanent - Full-time
We’re after a Network Investment Analyst who can help shape our long-term investment plans across both capital and operating expenditure. If you enjoy digging into data, understanding the “why” behind decisions, and working with others to solve complex problems, this role will give you plenty to get stuck into.
You’ll work closely with teams across the Electricity Distribution business, using our Copperleaf investment tool to help us choose the right mix of network projects each year. Your work ensures we’re investing where it matters most, delivering value for customers, reducing risk, and supporting a resilient, well-planned network.
What you’ll be involved in:
- Pulling together the financial inputs for our annual Asset Management Plan (AMP)
- Looking at project costs, timing and interdependencies so our investments are efficiently sequenced
- Running our annual Copperleaf portfolio optimisation; working alongside Network Planning, Programme Delivery and Service Delivery
- Supporting our CAPEX and OPEX annual budgeting process
- Turning complex data and modelling into clear insights and scenarios for decision makers
- Helping maintain and improve our Copperleaf Value Framework
- Providing regular updates on our short- and long-term investment pipeline so teams can plan ahead and stay aligned
- Contributing to papers and updates for leaders and governance groups when needed
Who we think will thrive in this role:
You don’t have to tick every box, but you’ll likely bring some of the following:
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, commerce, economics or similar
- Strong analytical skills, including solid Excel capability
- Experience with long-term forecasting or financial modelling
- An understanding of economic or asset management principles
- Curiosity, critical thinking and a willingness to keep improving how we do things
- The confidence to work with different teams and explain your insights in a clear, down-to-earth way
- Experience in the electricity sector or regulatory environment is a bonus, but not essential
What’s it like working here?
You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive and down-to-earth team who care about doing good work and having a bit of fun along the way. Powerco offers competitive pay, generous leave and wellbeing support but just as importantly, you’ll be part of a company that plays a vital role in our communities.
If this sounds like a role that matches your strengths and interests, we’d love to hear from you.
