Risk and Assurance Specialist

New Plymouth

Reporting to the Risk and Assurance Manager, the Risk and Assurance Specialist will help us build organisational value and resilience through the risk management and business assurance programmes.

The key aspects of the role where you can make your mark are as follows:

  • Assisting to complete Powerco’s annual, risk-based business assurance programme by undertaking a portion of internal audit and risk assurance work
  • Engaging with senior management, business managers and staff to help facilitate an intelligent risk management programme across Powerco’s business
  • Working effectively and collaboratively in keeping current with our legal and regulatory obligations, and contribute to Powerco’s evolving compliance programme

This role demands that you hold a relevant tertiary qualification with five years or more experience in an internal or external auditing capacity. Some experience working in major ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system environments will be of advantage. The ideal person for this role will also be a team player who enjoys adding value through process and systems improvement and is analytical with the ability to see the big picture. Good communication and relationship management skills are also very important to us.
