Network Performance Lead

New Plymouth

About the role:

At Powerco, we're committed to delivering reliable energy solutions to our customers. As a Network Performance Lead, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our network operates efficiently, minimizing unplanned outages, and enhancing customer experience.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead investigations into unplanned outages, identify their causes, and implement measures to enhance fault resilience. By collaborating with various teams and stakeholders, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigate network outages, analyse causes, and suggest improvement strategies.
  • Coordinate actions to resolve identified issues efficiently.
  • Participate in fault review meetings and strategic asset discussions.
  • Lead discussions with fault staff to propose solutions for area-specific network issues.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and execute emergency management scenarios, contributing to post-event reviews.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 5 Electrical trade qualification with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of emergency management, health & safety requirements, and electricity distribution.
  • Experience with electrical substations, high-voltage electricity networks, and outage systems.
  • Experience with Outage systems and processes, SCADA and communication systems
