At Powerco, we’re on a mission to secure the future of electricity for our customers, and we're looking for a Network Development Manager (East) to take the reins in shaping the growth and security of our electricity network in the Eastern region.
About the Role
As the Network Development Manager (East), you'll lead a team of seven skilled professionals dedicated to planning and developing robust, future-proofed electricity networks. Your primary focus will be to craft and implement investment plans that address both current and future energy needs while ensuring efficient and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate the Eastern Network Development team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Network Development Manager (West) to drive consistent, long-term planning across the network, integrating asset renewal needs into 10-year asset management plans.
- Project Ownership: Partner with design, consenting, and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution from planning to delivery.
- Customer Support: Work closely with customers on electricity connections and upgrades, ensuring their development plans align with network capabilities.
- Grid-Scale Integration: Plan and facilitate the connection of grid-scale distributed generation (DG) and partner with Transpower on bulk supply planning.
- Operational Support: Provide crucial support to the Network Operations Centre (NOC) with outage-related studies and operational analysis.
- Leadership: Contribute to the overall leadership of the Network Development team, shaping strategy and driving the team’s success.
Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have solid experience and background in leading high performing teams. You will also have a Degree in Electrical Engineering and ideally experience in network planning. You will bring with you key skills and expertise in:
- Leadership Vision: Ability to lead with clarity and inspire others.
- Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to work across the organization and influence key stakeholders.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk management and decision-making.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity & Commercial Acumen: A keen interest in staying at the forefront of industry trends, coupled with a strong commercial sense.
