About the role

As part of the engineering services leadership team, this role leads a team of technical and data specialists to provide an internal consultancy service to the business by providing technical advice, engineering feed studies, and innovative thinking in support of our strategy to become a customer-focused infrastructure owner and operator. A critical part of this role will be to continue to evolve and improve our technical graduate programme and develop our future talent.

Powerco is undergoing a lot of change, so the ability to adapt quickly is vital to the role. You will need to help your people navigate this change.

About you

To be successful in the role, you'll be able to motivate and inspire your team to deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose technical services. You'll bring people together to drive clarity, solve problems and optimise delivery. You'll be very comfortable in your leadership abilities and experienced at leading others through change. 

The ideal person will have:

  • Energy / Infrastructure sector experience
  • At least two years of leading a team of technical engineers or specialists
  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural or Process)
  • Some experience being the 'go-to' person for technical advice as a specialist
  • The ability to balance delivering technical excellence with other business risks, including commercial
  • A good understanding of all engineering disciplines
  • The ability to work both strategically and tactically, leading your team whilst still able to deep-dive into technical problems when needed.
