Head of Design
New Plymouth, Tauranga, Wellington, Palmerston North
This is a newly created role within our Electricity team, reporting to the GM Electricity. We are bringing together our Electricity operations into a single function to enable us to focus on excellence, our culture, and our customer relationships.
About the role
We’re looking for a highly skilled leader to lead our electricity design and asset information teams to enable our electricity strategy and deliver results for Powerco’s customers. This role combines implementing strategies with influence and delivery. Essentially, you’ll embrace our people, care about our customers, and influence the way the teams work to deliver innovative solutions in a rapidly changing environment.
You’ll need to excel at building relationships, value the creation of a positive team culture, ask great questions with a view to identifying and influencing process improvements. You’ll be a natural leader that thrives on delivering results ‘on time and budget’ with strengths in building trust and rapport quickly with your colleagues, your team, and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience which will ensure success
- Extensive leadership experience – you’re clear on your leadership vision and lead yourself and others with perspective, influence, and energy
- A successful track record in delivering change, results and executing business plans, with solid financial experience
- A clear vision of what excellence and success looks like and comfort in challenging the status quo
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, the knack of clearly and expertly conveying technical information
- An analytical approach to solutions and decision making – the ability to cut through data and information to identify a better way
- Electrical / Engineering industry experience (ideal but not a must)
