- Transform the way we engage and deliver for our customers
Customer Delivery Services (CDS) Project Manager
📍 Palmerston North or Masterton
🕐 12 Months Fixed Term - Full-time
We are looking for a fixed-term Project Manager who thrives on complexity, enjoys working across diverse stakeholders, and is looking for a role with purpose.
At Powerco, we’re investing in our electricity network and transforming the way we engage with and deliver for our customers. As a Customer Delivery Services Project Manager, you’ll take the lead on customer-initiated electricity projects - owning them end-to-end in a fast-evolving environment where your project management expertise makes a real difference. To succeed in this role, you’ll need proven project management skills and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
Why this role?
This isn’t just project management as usual. You’ll need to be comfortable with shifting priorities, adaptable in how you engage with stakeholders, and confident in applying your PM skills to navigate technical and delivery challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage electricity projects from customer application to delivery - on time, on budget, and safely.
- Oversee scopes, risks, costs, schedules, and quality outcomes across customer initiated work.
- Work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams to align expectations and ensure delivery.
- Help shape new ways of working as Powerco transforms how we deliver for customers.
- Have a strong handle on compliance, reporting, and documentation every step of the way.
You’ll bring:
- Proven project management experience - ideally in electricity distribution or a related infrastructure or construction field.
- A solid foundation in project disciplines: planning, financial control, stakeholder engagement, risk, and reporting.
- A practical, people-focused approach with strong communication and coordination skills.
- The ability to navigate change and ambiguity as we hone our processes and a drive to improve how things are done.
We are working to tight timescales on this recruitment so would encourage early applications from candidates as we will be reviewing CVs throughout the process.
📅 Applications close: Friday 20 March 2026
Our ability to get the best out of people is what sets Powerco apart. We realise that candidates – especially from underrepresented and neurodiverse backgrounds – often won’t apply for roles unless they meet ALL the criteria. We encourage anyone who shares our passion for connecting communities to apply for any role that aligns to your strengths and interests. We will provide a safe space where you can bring your whole self to work and thrive.
If you would benefit from support or adjustments in order to participate equitably in the recruitment process, please phone 0800 769372 or email kiaora@powerco.co.nz
