The Opportunity:

Due to our upcoming pipeline of work across Energy (Hydro, Solar, Wind, Transmission), and Transport, we are looking for a Civil Engineering Discipline Leader, to take the lead on a significant multidisciplinary infrastructure project. Working directly with the Client and Stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership and direction to our civil engineers and designers to deliver smart solutions, detailed designs and documentation. 

What you'll do:

• Provide technical leadership and design direction for a significant renewable energy project including access roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, utilities coordination and pavements.
• Reporting to the Design Manager, be part of the technical leadership team, representing civil engineering and interfacing with other design consultants.
• Lead a team of civil engineers and designers to prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, reports and other technical documentation
• Build strong relationships with clients and work closely with project managers, design managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Understand and apply quality, safety and project requirements throughout the design process, ensuring solutions are practical and compliant.
• Be responsible for the delivery of design documentation in accordance with project and statutory requirements.
• Mentor and develop engineers and designers, uplifting technical capability and championing best practice across the team.
• Be a leader in pitt&sherry contributing to the growth and development of our infrastructure services business as we deliver on our 2030 strategy. 

What You Bring:

• Typically 12+ years’ experience in civil engineering design and project delivery, ideally within a consulting environment, including experience leading a discipline or design team.
• A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering; Chartered status (CPEng) is highly regarded.
• Experience of working with Contractors, in a Design and Construct environment would be desirable.
• Deep technical experience across projects involving earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities and associated infrastructure across a range of sectors.
• Advanced technical skills in civil design, design review, coordination, reporting and technical documentation.
• The ability to set technical direction, manage competing priorities, apply sound engineering judgement and deliver quality outcomes for clients and project teams.
• Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach, a willingness to take ownership and the confidence to lead and mentor others both collaboratively and independently.
• A genuine interest in continuing to learn, develop professionally and contribute to a positive team culture.
