Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in accordance with the objectives of the Hospital, this position will provide strong clinical and professional leadership to the Allied Health Team.

The Physiotherapist works as part of a physiotherapy team and is accountable for provision of a range of Physiotherapy services for Inpatients, Outpatients, Aged Care residents and including community education programs such as chronic disease management and physiotherapy directed group classes A Grade 3 Physiotherapist is required to undertake additional duties or responsibilities to that of a Grade 2 Physiotherapists.

These additional duties include:

  • Provide support to the Primary Care Centre Manager role.
  • Provide oversight and clinical support to Grade 1 and 2 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and Students to ensure compliance with administrative tasks, documentation standards and clinical performance.
  • Apply advanced clinical reasoning to manage complex or chronic conditions
  • Take charge of the Physiotherapy department
  • Facilitate in service educational session and contribute to skill development within the team

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide an efficient, effective Physiotherapy service to all relevant areas across the organisation.
  • Has a two-way approach that encourages patient/resident participation leading to successful patient/resident health outcomes
  • Proficient in the use of clinical information systems and digital technologies to support service delivery and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Contribute to data collection, audits, and research activities to inform evidence based practice.
  • Work as the Head of Department to ensure needs of the organization are monitored to achieve targets.
  • Pursue opportunities for continuing professional and personal development.
  • Leadership activities are undertaken in a manner that positively supports the organization and facilitates commitment to organisational values and standards by all staff.
