Field Service Technician

Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for problem-solving and building client relationships? We’re recruiting on behalf of a global engineering leader with a strong presence in Australia, known for their innovative solutions across hydropower, pulp and paper, industrial separation, steel production, and biomass processing.

They are now looking to appoint a skilled and proactive Service Technician to join their growing Melbourne-based team.

About the Role:

This dynamic role will see you working across both workshop and field environments, supporting key clients across a variety of industrial sectors. You’ll play a vital part in delivering technical services, driving client satisfaction, and supporting commercial outcomes through your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed rotating industrial equipment
• Overhaul, repair, and reassemble equipment such as decanter centrifuges
• Supervise on-site service activities and ensure safe work practices
• Diagnose issues, identify solutions, and prepare detailed service reports
• Support the sales team with technical advice and customer insights
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying future service needs

What We’re Looking For:

• Trade qualification or engineering diploma (Australian-recognised)
• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• Confident working autonomously and safely in workshop environments
• Willing to travel within Australia (up to 40%) and occasionally work after hours
• Current driver’s licence
