Our client is is one of Australia’s largest specialist personal injury firms with a office culture that is second to none and you won't be treated as a number.

As a result of significant growth, they are looking for an Accounts Payable/Receivable Officer to join their finance team on a 6 month fixed term contract. You will be need to have a solid understanding of double entry book keeping, must be comfortable in working with a manual entry system and dealing with volume.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Accounts Payable – Disbursement:

·       Prepare monthly reconciliation for disbursement suppliers

·       Source and enter disbursement invoices into accounting program

·       Check, verify and reconcile information in accounting program

·       Entering and processing of approved disbursement payments (EFT, credit card and cheques)

Archiving:

·       Manage archive and retrieval of matters with provider;

·       Distribution of retrieved files to staff;

·       Reconciliation of ledgers prior to closure of files;

File maintenance:

·       Maintain active file listing

·       Closing of settled files

Accounts Receivable:

·       Liaising with solicitors, following up of and collection of outstanding debtors

·       Receipting and processing of daily debtor funds received

·       Prepare and process monthly billings, invoices and bank deposits

·       Initiate daily office/trust payments

 Admin/Other:

 ·       Daily banking;

·       Various filing;

·       Assist with month end closing

·       Assists in financial management and analysis, as requested

·       Other ad hoc duties, as requested

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Experience in using Excel, Word, Software experience in Xero
