About the Role
Our client is a well-established Loss Adjusting organisation with their head office located in Sydney.
They are seeking a motivated Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team on a full-time (the role is office based with the possibility of WFH options once the candidate is established).
This position is a great opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, proven AR/AP experience, and proficiency in Xero and/or MYOB. The successful candidate will be tenacious with follow-up, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and capable of building effective relationships with both internal staff and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, expenses, and credit card reconciliations accurately.
- Prepare supplier payments, including batch payments, ensuring authorisation and compliance with policies.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve vendor queries.
- Liaise with the admin team to raise customer invoices in Xero and ensure accuracy with related systems.
- Reconcile customer accounts, monitor overdue accounts, and follow up professionally.
- Complete month-end routines and assist with reconciliations and reporting.
- Support the CFO and Managing Director with ad hoc projects, audits, and compliance.
Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable / Receivable within an Australian workplace.
- Completion or near completion of a relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification.
- Proficiency in Xero and/or MYOB (Xero preferred; training support available).
- Excellent reconciliation and data entry accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise across all levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Tenacity and professionalism in following up outstanding accounts.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
