The Role:

Our client is seeking a Intermediate/ Senior Accountant with initiative who can maintain an important level of customer service and needs someone who can confidently manage their own workflow. 

This is a hands-on role where you be responsible for the tax and business advisory work for a diverse and broad client base.

You must have public practice experience and be able to work autonomously and as part of a close-knit team and take ownership of your client portfolio.

Your main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills to build positive client relationships
  • exceptional attention to detail as well as work to practice deadlines
  • Preparation of financial accounts and tax returns for individual, companies, partnerships, trusts and SMSF
  • Preparation of BAS, IAS, and GST returns, as well as taxable payment reports
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Regular liaison with the ATO, ASIC and other agencies
  • Managing an offshore employee

Qualifications

  • Accounting university degree
  • Completed or near completion of Chartered Accountants program or equivalent

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years demonstrated experience in a similar role within an Australian public practice.
  • Experience in using Excel, Word, Software experience in Xero, XPM, Class
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build positive client relationships
  • Exceptional attention to detail as well as work to practice deadlines
  • Strong team player who is eager to learn new tasks, systems, processes, and software
