- Use your electrical knowledge, not just your Revit skills — this role rewards engineers who think, not just drafters who draw
- Work on infrastructure that leaves the screen and gets built on site — HV/LV networks, substations, cable routes across a major national program
- Permanent role in Brisbane with an award-winning team and a pipeline of complex projects to sink your teeth into
As an Electrical Revit Designer at PHE Engineering, you'll be working on a major Australian electrical infrastructure program taking complex HV and LV network designs and turning them into construction-ready BIM packages that real crews actually build from. You'll need to understand the electrical systems you're modelling, not just trace over them.
If you're a Revit operator who's grown frustrated being handed instructions without context and you're ready to work somewhere that values your technical thinking as much as your modelling speed - this is worth reading.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and modelling HV and LV cable routes - conduits, pits, submains, distribution pillars, and associated infrastructure
- Producing detailed Revit models and installation drawings for surface building electrical services, plant, and equipment
- Interpreting engineering concepts and translating them into accurate, buildable 3D models and documentation
- Coordinating electrical models across structural, mechanical, and civil disciplines to resolve clashes and constructability issues
- Participating in design reviews, clash detection sessions, and BIM coordination workshops
- Ensuring all models and drawings meet project specifications, standards, and safety requirements
- Supporting delivery of fully coordinated, construction-ready BIM outputs
What We're Looking For
- Advanced Revit 3D modelling experience for electrical systems - this is essential, not optional
- The ability to design as well as draft - you understand electrical systems, not just how to draw them
- Proven experience modelling HV/LV reticulation, cable routes, substations, and electrical infrastructure
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD with solid BIM workflow understanding
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on industry experience
- A confident communicator who can hold their own in multi-disciplinary design environments
- Experience with Navisworks, BIM360, or similar coordination platforms is a genuine advantage
- Exposure to ETAP or SafeGrid is a bonus — not a barrier
Why PHE?
PHE has spent more than 50 years earning a reputation for technical excellence across mining, industrial, and energy — and we protect that reputation by investing in the people who uphold it.
We don't want someone to just execute instructions. We want someone who can look at a design, understand the intent behind it, and bring genuine technical thinking to the model.
At the 2025 NECA Excellence Awards, we took home:
- Perpetual Award — the judges' highest accolade across all categories for excellence in safety, quality, innovation and culture
- National Industrial X-Large Project ($20M+) — Carrapateena Underground Crusher 2.0
- Leaders in Diversity (Business) — Queensland and National level
The Practical Stuff
- Based in our Fortitude Valley office, Brisbane
