PHE is a leading service provider in the Construction Industry with over 50 years of experience, specialises in electrical and instrumentation operations across Australia. We are actively involved in major projects nationwide, supporting industries such as mining, hydro power generation, remote gas power plants, pulp and paper manufacturing, and timber processing.

About the Role:

As a Project Controls Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing project costs, analysing budget variances, and ensuring projects remain within budgetary constraints. This position demands strong cost management expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project budgets in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Implement robust cost control procedures to monitor project expenses and commitments.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify and rectify budget discrepancies.
  • Prepare and present analytical reports using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, addressing project budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and variations.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to gather data, resolve issues, and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
  • Manage change orders, evaluating their financial impact and ensuring proper documentation and approval.
  • Develop accurate cost forecasting models to support project planning and decision-making.
  • Assess project risks related to budgets and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare Progress Summary reports, Primavera programme updates, Project S-Cure reports, Manning reports, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint for analytical reporting.
  • Strong understanding of budget development, cost monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 for project scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey financial status and insights to stakeholders.
  • Previous procurement experience is desirable
