Step into a leadership role delivering a major electrical infrastructure upgrade in Cabramurra Township, set against the scenic Snowy Mountains. Be part of a dynamic team delivering HV/LV power systems, underground cabling, and advanced substation technology.
As a Power Systems Engineer, you’ll work on high-profile, technically challenging works spanning from early design to commissioning and long-term support. Your expertise will directly shape the reliability and performance of infrastructure that powers regional and industrial growth.
In This Role, You Will
- Specify and procure HV/LV substations including RMUs, transformers, switchboards, and kiosk enclosures.
- Coordinate civil pad design with associated electrical requirements
- Design HV and LV cable routes – conduits, pits, submains, and distribution pillars.
- Perform protection grading and arc flash studies using ETAP to ensure compliance and safety.
- Lead earthing design leveraging SafeGrid analysis.
- Ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Liaise with surveyors, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes on time and to the highest standard.
- Coordinate with Service Provider to complete connection agreement and associated studies and requirements
About You
We are looking for ambitious engineers who thrive on complexity and want to see their work make a measurable impact.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or trade qualifications with strong project experience).
- Proven expertise in HV/LV distribution, substations, and electrical infrastructure delivery.
- Proficient in ETAP, SafeGrid, and AutoCAD.
- Strong grounding in protection systems, fault studies, and earthing design.
- Skilled in project management, leadership, and clear stakeholder communication.
- PSSE/PSCAD proficiency will be highly regarded
